How closure states are defined

Closed — permanent
Operations ended and the firm has not resumed.
Wound down
Firm ran a documented wind-down of existing accounts rather than an abrupt stop.
Paused
Firm suspended sales or operations without a recorded permanent closure.
Acquired
Operations continued under different ownership.

A closure event records that operations ended, paused or changed hands. It is not a statement about why the firm closed unless a reason is recorded in the row, and it is not a judgement about the firm's conduct.

Rows are sourced from the PropTradeCenter firm-event record, built from firm announcements, regulator publications and industry reporting. Dates are shown at the precision the record supports; "Unknown" means no date has been established.
