Risk Disclosure
Last updated: 20 August 2026
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ THIS RISK DISCLOSURE CAREFULLY BEFORE USING PROPTRADECENTER.COM OR RELYING ON ANY PTC RESEARCH, RANKING, INDEX, SCORE, ESTIMATE, OR FIRM INFORMATION.
PropTradeCenter is an independent research and market-intelligence platform. Trading financial instruments and participating in proprietary trading programs involve significant risk. You should make your own assessment before committing money to a trading firm, evaluation program, broker, platform, or financial product.
1. Research and information only
PropTradeCenter.com is operated by Bozz International Ltd. / Wayzer Analytics (Business ID: 2831450-3), a company registered in Finland.
PropTradeCenter provides research, data, rankings, estimates, and information about the proprietary trading industry.
PropTradeCenter is not a broker, investment firm, investment adviser, portfolio manager, trading adviser, or provider of investment services.
Nothing published on PropTradeCenter constitutes:
- financial advice,
- investment advice,
- trading advice,
- legal or tax advice,
- a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold a financial instrument,
- a recommendation to purchase a prop trading evaluation or funded program,
- an endorsement of a particular prop firm, broker, platform, or financial product, or
- a guarantee of any trading, payout, business, or investment outcome.
PTC research is intended to help users understand the market. It does not replace their own due diligence.
2. Trading risk
Trading financial instruments — including futures, forex, equities, indices, commodities, cryptocurrencies, and related products — involves substantial risk of loss.
You may lose some or all of the capital you commit to trading.
Important risks include:
- Market risk: prices can move rapidly and significantly against a position.
- Leverage risk: leverage can amplify both gains and losses and may cause positions or accounts to breach risk limits quickly.
- Liquidity risk: markets may become illiquid, particularly during news events, market stress, or outside normal trading hours.
- Execution risk: orders may experience slippage, delays, rejected execution, or fills at prices different from those expected.
- Technology risk: platform outages, connectivity failures, data-feed errors, software failures, or other technical problems may affect trading.
- Volatility risk: unusually volatile markets can cause losses or account breaches substantially faster than normal market conditions.
- Counterparty and operational risk: firms, brokers, platforms, payment processors, or other counterparties may experience financial, technical, legal, or operational problems.
No research tool, ranking, or dataset can eliminate these risks.
3. Proprietary trading program risks
Prop trading evaluations and funded programs involve risks that differ from trading your own brokerage account.
These can include:
- evaluation or subscription fees that may be lost if program conditions are not met,
- maximum-loss and daily-loss rules,
- trailing or static drawdown restrictions,
- consistency requirements,
- minimum or maximum trading-day requirements,
- restrictions around news trading, overnight positions, weekends, EAs, copying, or particular strategies,
- payout eligibility requirements,
- payout limits or profit-split arrangements,
- account termination following a rule breach,
- changes to program terms after purchase,
- delayed or disputed payouts,
- technology or platform interruptions, and
- closure, restructuring, acquisition, or operational failure of the firm.
A program that appears inexpensive may not necessarily be easier to complete or economically superior to a more expensive program.
Users should read the firm's current terms and rules directly before purchasing any program.
4. “Funded” does not necessarily mean live capital
The terminology used within the proprietary trading industry can be confusing.
Terms such as “funded account”, “funded trader”, “live account”, or “funded stage” do not necessarily mean that a trader is operating a brokerage account containing firm capital or that the trader's individual orders are being executed in an external market.
Depending on the firm and program, an evaluation or funded environment may be:
- simulated,
- live,
- hybrid, or
- not independently verifiable from available evidence.
Some firms may separately replicate, hedge, copy, or otherwise use selected trader activity in live markets without the trader's own account itself being a live brokerage account.
Where PropTradeCenter classifies an account environment, the classification represents PTC's assessment based on available evidence, not the firm's marketing terminology.
If live execution cannot be independently established, PTC may identify it as not verified.
5. Firm and counterparty risk
Prop trading firms differ considerably in structure, financial resources, jurisdiction, operational maturity, and business model.
A firm's continued operation cannot be guaranteed.
Possible risks include:
- insolvency or business failure,
- suspension of operations,
- loss of payment-provider access,
- changes in ownership,
- regulatory intervention,
- restrictions in particular jurisdictions,
- changes in broker or platform relationships,
- reduced or delayed payouts,
- changes in pricing or rules, and
- discontinuation of particular programs.
A firm can experience material problems after PTC has researched or ranked it.
Historical stability does not guarantee future stability.
6. PTC rankings and scores are not guarantees of safety
PropTradeCenter publishes proprietary rankings, indexes, scores, and analytical indicators.
A high PTC ranking or score does not mean that:
- a firm is risk-free,
- a firm cannot fail,
- a trader will receive a payout,
- the firm's rules will suit a particular trading strategy,
- the firm is regulated,
- trader funds or fees are protected,
- a firm's financial condition has been independently audited by PTC, or
- using the firm is appropriate for a particular person.
Different PTC indexes measure different characteristics.
For example, measures of market presence, brand strength, search visibility, website activity, growth, or popularity are not measures of solvency or financial safety.
Similarly, a credibility, trust, or risk-related score is an analytical assessment based on defined evidence and methodology. It is not a guarantee of future conduct.
Users should consider the purpose and methodology of a particular metric before interpreting it.
7. Estimates and model risk
PropTradeCenter publishes proprietary estimates of industry and firm-level metrics that cannot always be directly observed.
These may include estimates relating to:
- active traders,
- funded traders,
- payouts,
- market size,
- firm size,
- revenue,
- market presence, and
- other industry characteristics.
Such figures may be produced from statistical models, observed signals, assumptions, third-party datasets, and calibrated relationships.
An estimate is not a reported fact.
Actual values may differ materially from PTC estimates.
Confidence intervals, ranges, coverage indicators, and methodology notes should be considered where provided.
Changes to data availability, industry structure, assumptions, or model methodology may also change historical or future estimates.
8. Data and information accuracy
PropTradeCenter aims to maintain accurate and well-sourced information, but no industry database can be guaranteed to be complete or current at all times.
Prop firms can change their:
- prices,
- rules,
- payout conditions,
- account structures,
- platforms,
- jurisdictions,
- ownership,
- restrictions, and
- operating status
without advance notice to PropTradeCenter.
PTC also uses information from public sources and third-party data providers that may contain errors, delays, coverage limitations, or methodological changes.
Accordingly, PropTradeCenter does not guarantee that every data point is complete, current, or error-free.
Material terms should always be verified directly with the relevant firm before making a financial commitment.
9. Past performance and historical data
Past performance is not indicative of future results.
Historical information relating to:
- traders,
- strategies,
- payouts,
- firms,
- rankings,
- website activity,
- search demand,
- growth,
- business performance, or
- market conditions
does not guarantee that similar results will occur in the future.
A firm's previous payout history, reputation, growth, or ranking does not guarantee future payouts or continued operation.
10. Regulatory and legal information
PropTradeCenter may publish research concerning regulation, legal developments, jurisdictions, company structures, or regulatory risk.
This information is provided for research and informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.
The regulatory treatment of proprietary trading businesses can differ substantially depending on:
- business model,
- jurisdiction,
- instruments offered,
- whether trading is simulated or live,
- the relationship between the trader and firm,
- payment structures, and
- other facts and circumstances.
A reference to a company, licence, regulator, jurisdiction, or legal development should not be interpreted as a conclusion that a firm's entire business is regulated, approved, unregulated, lawful, or unlawful unless PTC expressly states and supports that conclusion.
Users requiring legal or regulatory advice should consult an appropriately qualified professional.
11. Cryptocurrency and digital-asset risks
Cryptocurrency and digital-asset markets can involve particularly high volatility, technological risk, liquidity risk, platform risk, custody risk, and regulatory uncertainty.
Some crypto-oriented proprietary trading programs may also depend on:
- centralised exchanges,
- decentralised protocols,
- smart contracts,
- blockchain infrastructure, or
- third-party liquidity and execution systems.
Failures or disruptions in any of these systems can affect trading and payouts.
Crypto-related PTC research does not constitute a recommendation to trade or acquire digital assets.
12. Commercial and affiliate relationships
PropTradeCenter may contain advertising, sponsorships, affiliate links, or other commercial relationships.
Where applicable, these relationships are disclosed.
PropTradeCenter may receive compensation when a user follows certain commercial or affiliate links. Such compensation does not determine a firm's PTC ranking, index score, research conclusion, or editorial assessment.
A commercial relationship does not reduce the risks associated with the relevant firm or product.
Please see our Editorial Policy for further information about PTC's independence standards.
13. External websites and third parties
PropTradeCenter links to prop firms, brokers, platforms, regulators, data sources, and other third-party websites.
PTC does not control these third parties and is not responsible for their:
- products,
- services,
- terms,
- financial condition,
- conduct,
- availability,
- security, or
- privacy practices.
Following a link from PropTradeCenter does not mean that PTC guarantees or endorses the third party.
14. Your responsibility
By using PropTradeCenter, you acknowledge that:
- trading and proprietary trading programs involve significant risk,
- PTC research does not replace your own due diligence,
- rankings and scores are analytical tools rather than recommendations,
- estimates involve uncertainty,
- prop firm terms can change rapidly,
- you should verify material information directly with the relevant firm, and
- you remain responsible for your own trading, commercial, and financial decisions.
Do not commit funds that you cannot afford to lose.
15. No guarantee of outcome
PropTradeCenter cannot guarantee:
- that you will pass a prop trading evaluation,
- that you will receive a payout,
- that a firm will continue operating,
- that a particular trading strategy will be profitable,
- that a ranking will identify the best firm for your circumstances, or
- that any estimate or forecast will prove accurate.
The fact that a firm is listed, researched, ranked, or included in a PTC dataset does not constitute endorsement.
