Regulatory Watch

Regulatory actions and developments affecting prop firms, as recorded in the PropTradeCenter event record — plus a factual description of the regulatory environment by jurisdiction.

This page does not grade jurisdictions or firms, does not forecast regulatory outcomes and does not recommend firms. Where the record holds no assessment, none is shown.

Rows describe what a regulator or the firm published. An em dash means no impact assessment has been recorded — not that the action was immaterial.

Regulatory environment

Who supervises what, by jurisdiction. These are descriptions of regulatory remit, not ratings of jurisdictions, and not a measure of how safe any individual firm is.

Regulatory watchlist

Areas we actively monitor because published regulatory activity touches them. This is a monitoring list, not a forecast — we do not publish expected regulatory outcomes.

Financial promotions and marketing (UK)

The FCA's financial promotions regime continues to apply to firms marketing regulated activity to UK consumers. We record enforcement and warning-list entries as they are published.

US solicitation and registration status

CFTC registration status and RED List entries determine whether a firm may solicit US residents for forex or futures activity. We record additions affecting tracked firms.

Retail CFD product intervention (EU / Australia)

ESMA and ASIC product-intervention measures set leverage and marketing limits for retail CFD exposure. Changes are recorded when published by the regulator.

Classification of evaluation fees

Whether evaluation fees are treated as service fees or as an investment product remains the central legal question in several published cases. We record outcomes, not expected outcomes.

Evaluation fee vs. investment deposit

The distinction that most published regulatory cases turn on. This is a general description of the two legal categories, not advice and not a statement about any specific firm.
